On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, a meeting for new students was held at the Activities Auditorium, with the attendance of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Moath Al-Tarawneh, the Vice Dean, Dr. Mohammad Al-Limoun, the Dean's Assistants, Dr. Samir Sobeh and Dr. Youssef Al-Hajaya, as well as the heads of departments: Dr. Tahani Hijazin (Department of Life Sciences), Dr. Osama Al-Kasasbeh (Department of Physics), and Dr. Rabea Al-Maaytah (Department of Mathematics).

The meeting began with the national anthem. This was followed by a presentation video aimed at introducing the faculty to the new students. The video showcased the academic facilities, study programs, and student activities provided by the faculty, giving the students an overview of what to expect during their studies.

After the presentation, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Moath Al-Tarawneh, gave a warm welcoming speech to the new students. In his speech, he pointed out that joining the faculty marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with challenges and opportunities. Dr. Moath emphasized the importance of familiarizing oneself with the various departments of the faculty and key locations on campus, stressing that each department plays a crucial role in shaping the student's academic experience.

Dr. Moath also discussed the significance of the advisory plan, explaining how it serves as a tool to help students organize their academic path and ensure they achieve their academic goals. He further highlighted the importance of regular class attendance, noting that active participation in lectures greatly contributes to a deeper understanding of the course materials.

During the meeting, the importance of adhering to university regulations, including attendance and absence policies, was emphasized as part of the student’s academic responsibility. He also pointed out the importance of maintaining continuous communication with faculty members and opening channels of dialogue with them for necessary support. At the end of the meeting, students were given the opportunity to ask questions and raise any concerns.

This meeting was a significant step in guiding the new students, reflecting the Faculty of Science's commitment to supporting them and enhancing their academic experience. The meeting also highlighted the importance of direct communication between the students and the faculty administration, contributing to the creation of a productive and motivating educational environment.
