The College of Science at any university is considered one of the most vital colleges, given its pivotal role in supporting and complementing other scientific colleges, in addition to its primary mission of nurturing students within the core scientific disciplines. At Mutah University, the College of Science not only fulfills this essential role, similar to its counterparts at other Jordanian universities, but also stands as one of the oldest and largest colleges within the institution. The College is comprised of four academic departments and is staffed by 60 distinguished faculty members, supported by an outstanding administrative and technical team that serves thousands of students across the College and the University. The College plays a significant role in delivering foundational scientific education both to its own students and to students from other faculties, in addition to its active engagement in scientific research.
Since the end of the second semester of the academic year 2022/2023, the College has embarked on a comprehensive development initiative across academic and administrative domains to enhance and improve its educational outcomes. In terms of infrastructure, the College has completed the renovation of several laboratories across its scientific departments, aiming to elevate the quality of facilities available to students. These improvements have significantly contributed to enhancing the services provided to students and raising their academic performance. Furthermore, the College continually updates its academic programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, ensuring that curricula are consistently revised to meet international accreditation standards. This enables graduates to compete effectively in local and global job markets and to serve the nation with excellence.
Scientific research represents a crucial pillar of the College’s mission. Faculty members are actively engaged in publishing numerous research papers based on their research activities conducted in the College’s laboratories. These research efforts are strongly supported by the University's Deanship of Scientific Research and various external funding agencies. This vibrant research output significantly contributes to strengthening the University’s position in international accreditation processes.
Regarding graduate studies, the College of Science offers four master's degree programs in the core sciences, with both thesis and comprehensive examination tracks. Students pursuing the thesis track conduct research in the College’s laboratories under the supervision of highly qualified and experienced faculty members. Many of these research outputs are published in prestigious international and national peer-reviewed journals.
In conclusion, we warmly welcome you to the College of Science and wish you continued success and excellence.
