On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, a meeting for new students was held at the Activities Auditorium, with the attendance of the Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Moath Al-Tarawneh, the Vice Dean, Dr. Mohammad Al-Limoun, the Dean's Assistants, Dr. Samir Sobeh and Dr. Youssef Al-Hajaya, as well as the heads of departments: Dr. Tahani Hijazin (Department of Life Sciences), Dr. Osama Al-Kasasbeh (Department of Physics), and Dr. Rabea Al-Maaytah (Department of Mathematics).

The meeting began with the national anthem. This was followed by a presentation video aimed at introducing the faculty to the new students. The video showcased the academic facilities, study programs, and student activities provided by the faculty, giving the students an overview of what to expect during their studies.

After the presentation, the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Moath Al-Tarawneh, gave a warm welcoming speech to the new students. In his speech, he pointed out that joining the faculty marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with challenges and opportunities. Dr. Moath emphasized the importance of familiarizing oneself with the various departments of the faculty and key locations on campus, stressing that each department plays a crucial role in shaping the student's academic experience.

Under the patronage of the Dean of the Faculty of Science and in coordination with the Quality Center, Dr. Adel Salim, Director of the Quality Center, delivered an important lecture on the National Qualifications Framework. The lecture was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, administrative staff, and faculty members.

The lecture provided a detailed explanation on how to apply for the qualification placement requirements for academic programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels at the university. Dr. Adel also offered a thorough explanation of how to fill out the required forms for this process, emphasizing the importance of following the correct steps to ensure a smooth and clear placement of qualifications.

The Faculty of Science at Mutah University held a ceremony to honor academically outstanding students, attended by a number of faculty and administrative staff members.
The ceremony commenced with a speech by the Vice Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Mohammad Al-Limoun, who praised the students' efforts and their continuous pursuit of academic excellence.

The Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Moath Al-Tarawneh, also delivered a speech, expressing the Faculty’s pride in the students' achievements and affirming its commitment to supporting them and providing an environment that fosters creativity and scientific excellence.

Visit of Ninth-Grade Students from Al-Mashhad Model School and Kindergarten to the Laboratories of the Department of Life Sciences – Faculty of Science

On April 21–22, 2024, a group of ninth-grade students from Al-Mashhad Model School and Kindergarten conducted an educational visit to the laboratories of the Department of Life Sciences at the Faculty of Science, accompanied by a group of esteemed teachers from the school.
The students were welcomed on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Science by Dr. Tahani Hijazin, Head of the Department of Life Sciences, and the Vice Dean of the Faculty.
The visit included a comprehensive tour of the various laboratories and their modern equipment within the Department of Life Sciences. The students also had the opportunity to observe the practical experiments conducted by the department's students, as their academic activities coincided with the visit. This provided the visiting students with valuable insight into scientific research methods and applied experiments.

Dean of the Faculty of Science Meets with Student Election Candidates

The Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Moath Al-Tarawneh, accompanied by the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Yousef Al-Hajaya, held a meeting with a group of students running for the student elections within the Faculty.
During the meeting, the Dean outlined the necessary guidelines to ensure the integrity and fairness of the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of adhering to university laws and regulations. He encouraged the candidates to work collaboratively and in a spirit of teamwork, highlighting that the elections should serve as a platform for free and constructive expression founded on strong democratic principles.

The Dean also stressed the importance of engaging with the student body, listening to diverse opinions and suggestions, and ensuring fair and balanced representation of all student groups.

The Dean of the Faculty of Science, Dr. Moath Al-Tarawneh, met with newly admitted students in the presence of the Vice Dean, Dr. Mohammad Al-Limoun, the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Yousef Al-Hajaya, the Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance, Dr. Sameer Sobh, and the heads of the faculty departments.

The meeting began with a moment of silence and the recitation of Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Gaza, followed by a welcoming address for the new students of the 2023–2024 academic year.

In his speech, the Dean, Dr. Moath Al-Tarawneh, after extending his welcome, emphasized the key principles essential for students during their initial years, including the importance of attending lectures regularly, adhering to university regulations and policies, and following the academic advisory plan. He also stressed the significance of continuous engagement with the course material and encouraged participation in extracurricular activities throughout the semester.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Dean expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to organizing the event and advised students to consult the Dean’s Office should they have any inquiries or require assistance.
